Nippon Sport Science University in Japan Hosts Training Camp for Yemen’s Paralympic Team in Preparation for the 2026 Asian Games

Nippon Sport Science University (NSSU) in Japan hosted a training camp for Yemen’s Paralympic team, featuring athlete Hani Bakir (discus and shot put), athlete Shahad Al-Sheikh (running), under the supervision of coach Ibrahim Abbas.
This camp is part of the intensive preparations for the 2026 Asian Games, scheduled to take place in Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4, 2026.
Alongside the Yemeni delegation, Lebanon’s national team also participated. The university provided a comprehensive training environment aimed at supporting Paralympic athletes who face challenges in their home countries due to local circumstances such as conflicts and disasters.
Nippon Sport Science University offered advanced training facilities and extensive support to the athletes, giving them an excellent opportunity to enhance their performance and prepare optimally for international competitions.
The Yemeni delegation expressed its gratitude and appreciation to the host institution for its generous support and the comprehensive facilities provided during the camp. They emphasized that this initiative will significantly contribute to improving the performance of Yemeni athletes in upcoming events.
It is worth mentioning that the 2026 Asian Games will mark the 20th edition of the continent’s largest sports event, with the participation of elite athletes from various countries.
